Charleston, SC - Lots of Landaus (by @mberkma)

Charleston food is fantastic. Raise your expectations.

On the advice of everyone the first place we went was Husk and everyone was right. It’s amazing. The right way to go is in a big group because you’re gonna want everything on the menu. The menu changes twice a day so you’ll have a different experience than I did but it’ll be excellent. For us the highlight was the duck but listen to your waiter. Drink a couple Husk Manhattans.

4.5 Landaus

Husk shmusk.. FIG is in a class of its own. We started with a bunch of apps that were all fantastic and we actually reordered apps before the entrees arrived. The tomato tartine alone might be enough of a reason to go to Charleston. I want to tell you how awesome the entrees were but I can’t stop thinking about that damn tomato tartine.  Don’t ever come to this city and not go here.

4.8 Landaus

Obstinate Daughter was our guys night out and it blew us away. We over tipped so that our wives could get in on a busy Labor Day Friday the next night and then our wives declined because they aren’t food obsessed slobs like we are. We had a bunch of different stuff — a clever pizza, amazing gnocchi, oysters. Somehow the highlight was a peach and prosciutto salad that had the perfect blend of salt and sweet.

4.6 Landaus

We hit a nice brunch/lunch spot called Page’s Okra Grill that is deep southern cuisine. Chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, chicken fried steak, etc. Good place to challenge your arteries. First bite of the chicken and waffles was 4.6 Landaus but by the time you leave you hate yourself.

3.9 Landaus

Go to Charleston.
