Always be suspect of a restaurant with 4 to 5 different menus. The Greenhouse is a Margate landmark next to another Margate landmark, Lucy the Elephant. As a bar this place is fine but as a place to take the family for an early dinner you can do a lot better. I had the Peel n Eat shrimp which were decent but that was the best part of the meal. The pizza and fries are passable and the drinks felt over priced and small. Yes, the basement cafe area has a special place in my heart for being able to be there offseason when I was much younger drinking beers and eating free popcorn. This time even the popcorn was stale.
While the deck keeps growing the outdoor area—which used to be tented—now had a permanent roof with lots of tvs and lost its outdoor feel.
I give it a (generous)
1.5 Landaus because if you’re walking down the beach and need a beer you can go.
